Wyandottes are docile and good producers of large brown eggs (4/wk). These dual-purpose birds are active, cold-hardy and good mothers. Hens are short, deep, wide-bodied and heavy weight (7-8 lbs). The Blue Wyandotte is one of the official varieties of the Wyandotte breed that include: Silver Laced, Golden Laced, White, Black, Buff, Partridge, Silver Penciled and Columbian. Blue laced Red is an unofficial but very popular variety too.
